A modern home with Moroccan influences
Set on the green hillsides above the west coast, Villa Gie is a recently renovated six-bedroom property that looks out over the Mediterranean Sea. The architecture features traditional white walls and arched doorways, accented by ornate Moroccan lanterns and wooden window frames. Inside, the open-plan layout makes the most of the natural light and the coastal setting, with large windows framing the sunset views over Cala Salada.
The main living spaces are designed for group gatherings, flowing easily from the fully fitted kitchen to the dining table and comfortable seating areas. A projector on the ceiling transforms the living room for evening viewing, while interior corners offer quiet spots to read. Throughout the house, the styling remains consistent, blending clean white surfaces with patterned fabrics and carved wood details.
Terraces, pool and comfortable suites
The outdoor areas are arranged across multiple levels to maximise the sea views. The curved swimming pool is surrounded by stone terraces, sunloungers and several shaded seating areas, including an outdoor kitchen and a small barbecue for al fresco dining. Above, a spacious rooftop terrace provides an open area with ten yoga mats available for morning practice.
The six bedrooms are split between the upper and lower levels, sleeping up to twelve guests. All feature en-suite bathrooms and individual Bluetooth speakers. On the upper floor, the Scirocco bedroom opens onto its own private terrace, while the Libeccio room offers flexible sleeping arrangements with a choice of a super king or twin beds.
The lower level houses the Maestrale master suite, which includes a king-size bed and a dedicated shower and steam room. Three further bedrooms on this floor, Zefiro, Grecale and Aliseo, have direct access or views onto the main pool terrace, allowing guests to step straight out into the morning sun.
Relaxed days for families and friends
With its generous layout and secure fenced grounds, the villa works well for large families or groups of friends sharing a holiday. Parents travelling with young children can make use of the two available cots, while older children and teenagers have access to a garden trampoline and a table tennis setup in the chill-out zones.
A typical day here revolves around the water and the terraces. Mornings might begin with yoga on the roof or a coffee by the pool, followed by a late breakfast at the glass-topped outdoor table. As the afternoon cools, the group can gather in the covered seating area under the Moroccan lanterns to watch the famous west-coast sunset before preparing dinner in the outdoor kitchen.
Exploring Cala Salada and San Antonio
The villa is situated in the residential hills of Cala Salada, an area known for its pine forests and clear water. While the immediate surroundings are quiet, a short drive brings you into the centre of San Antonio. This lively west-coast town is defined by its broad, yacht-filled bay and the renowned Sunset Strip, home to venues like Café del Mar and Café Mambo.
For beach days, the local coves of Cala Gració, Cala Gracioneta, S'Arenal and Caló des Moro offer varied stretches of sand within easy reach. Those looking to explore further inland can drive to the nearby traditional villages of San Rafael, San José and Santa Inés, which provide a sharp contrast to the busy marina and nightlife of the coast.
