Contemporary design and coastal views
Puesta del Sol is a modern, fenced and gated property situated in a quiet residential area of Cala Salada. The design is contemporary, with bright interiors and clean lines that focus attention on the outdoors. The house sits on a hillside, allowing for clear sightlines over the Mediterranean and the small islets off the western coast.
The layout is designed to keep the water in sight from almost every shared space. Large sliding glass doors in the main lounge pull back to connect the interior with the main terrace. The property benefits from its elevated position, providing direct views of the sunset each evening.
Bedrooms, living spaces and the pool
The main house comprises a bright lounge, a fully fitted kitchen, an office space, and three bedrooms. The principal bedroom, along with the main cooking and living areas, looks directly out toward the water. The remaining two guest bedrooms are situated slightly apart. These feature private entrances and their own terrace with a seating area shaded by mature trees. There are five bathrooms in total, alongside modern comforts like air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a Smart TV.
Outside, a twelve-metre swimming pool with Roman steps sits at the edge of a flat lawn. The water is bordered by wooden decking equipped with sunloungers. Directly outside the main lounge, a covered terrace holds an al fresco dining table and an outdoor seating area. Behind the main garden, an additional stylish pergola provides an alternative spot to read or rest in the shade.
Relaxing and working from the villa
Sleeping up to ten guests, the layout works well for families or groups of friends sharing a holiday. The division between the main house and the two separate guest bedrooms gives older children or couples a degree of independence, while the central living spaces are large enough for everyone to gather comfortably.
A typical day begins with coffee on the covered terrace, looking out over the water. The flat lawn and large pool provide plenty of space for swimming and relaxing during the warmer hours. Those needing to catch up on work can use the dedicated office space before joining the rest of the group outside. Evenings usually centre around the outdoor dining table, making use of the west-facing position to watch the sun go down over the sea.
Cala Salada and the San Antonio area
The property is highly practical for accessing the west coast's best coves. The beach at Cala Salada is a one-minute drive down the hill. A five-minute drive takes you to the neighbouring bays of Cala Gracio and Cala Gracioneta, both known for their clear water and pine-fringed sand.
The town of San Antonio is the nearest large centre, offering a wide, yacht-filled bay and famous sunset spots like Cafe del Mar and Cafe Mambo. It provides all necessary amenities, from large supermarkets to varied restaurants, alongside a lively nightlife scene.
For a change of pace, the traditional inland villages of San Jose, San Rafael, and Santa Ines are a short drive away. These quieter areas offer historic churches, local dining, and an insight into the island's rural character, balancing the busy coastal resorts.
