Architecture and Atmosphere
Located on the pine-covered slopes of the San José hillside, Villa Katherine is a modern six-bedroom property that looks out over the Mediterranean Sea. The house is spread across three distinct buildings—a main residence and two independent casitas—creating a layout that balances shared spaces with private sleeping quarters. The property is fully fenced and gated, offering a secure environment surrounded by mature gardens and well-kept lawns.
Inside the main house, the design relies on contemporary lines and natural wooden finishes. The ground floor features an open-plan living and dining area that receives ample natural light through large glass doors. These doors open directly onto a broad terrace, connecting the interior spaces with the outdoor dining area and the sweeping views of the coastline.
Bedrooms and Outdoor Spaces
The main house accommodates three of the six bedrooms. On the ground floor, the master double bedroom includes an en-suite bathroom and opens onto a private terrace facing the sea. The upper floor contains a twin room and a double room; these two share a family bathroom and both benefit from elevated sea views.
The remaining sleeping quarters are located in two separate buildings. The poolside casita houses two en-suite bedrooms—one arranged as a twin and the other as a double. The lower casita provides a final en-suite double bedroom. Both of these guest annexes feature their own living areas and private terraces furnished with Balinese day beds.
Outside, a large swimming pool sits at the edge of the lawn, flanked by sun loungers and parasols. The grounds also include a barbecue, a shaded dining space for meals outdoors, and a dedicated chill-out area to watch the sun set over the western horizon. An outdoor play area is available for younger guests.
Daily Life at the Villa
With its division of bedrooms across multiple buildings, the property works well for extended families or groups of friends travelling together. The independent casitas allow guests to maintain their own routines, while the central living spaces and large pool terrace provide natural gathering points throughout the day.
Mornings often begin with coffee on the upper terraces before moving down to the pool or the lawn area. The fully fitted kitchen, complete with modern appliances, makes preparing group meals straightforward, which can then be served at the al fresco dining table. For those who need to catch up on work, the villa includes a designated office space and reliable Wi-Fi, while the smart TV and integrated music system offer entertainment options in the evenings.
Exploring Cala Vadella
The villa is situated in Cala Vadella, a residential area on the southwest coast of Ibiza. The local beach is a protected horseshoe cove with clear, shallow water, making it a popular choice for families. The surrounding hills are covered in pine trees, framing the calm, turquoise bay below.
Beyond the immediate bay, the property provides access to several other locations on the west side of the island. The beaches of Cala Carbó and Cala Tarida are nearby, alongside the coastal area of Cala d'Hort. The village of San José is also close by, offering a different environment away from the coast.
