The house and its atmosphere
Set on a remarkable 16,500-square-metre seafront plot on Ibiza's west coast, Vista Conta is a retro-style property designed to make the most of its elevated position. The house looks out over a plateau of pine trees towards the open sea and rocky islets, capturing the legendary sunsets this part of the island is known for.
Inside, the design is functional and clean, relying on a simple layout that brings the outside in. The main living spaces are located on the upper floor, where a bright living room centres around an open fireplace. This area flows into an American-style kitchen and a dining space, all opening onto a breakfast terrace where guests can start the day with clear views of the water.
Bedrooms, living spaces and the outdoors
The villa accommodates eight guests across four bedrooms, each featuring a balcony with sea views. The upper floor is home to the master bedroom, which includes an en-suite bathroom fitted with both a bathtub and a shower. On the lower level, you will find two double bedrooms and one twin room with two single beds. These lower rooms share access to two bathrooms, one being an en-suite with a bath and shower, and the other a separate shower room.
Outside, the expansive tiled terrace surrounds a curved swimming pool finished with a dolphin mosaic. The outdoor areas are set up for full days in the sun, equipped with sunloungers, straw parasols, and a covered patio dining area. An outdoor kitchen, a built-in barbecue, and an alfresco shower complete the terrace, making it easy to prepare meals and cool off without heading inside.
Who it suits and a typical day
Vista Conta works well for families and groups of friends looking for a comfortable, unpretentious base close to the coast. The generous plot provides plenty of space, while the fenced perimeter and private parking add a layer of practical security for those travelling with children or renting vehicles.
A typical day often begins with coffee on the upper breakfast terrace before walking down to the coast. The 900-metre stroll takes about 15 minutes, leading directly to the low rocky shores and turquoise shallows of Cala Conta. In the late afternoon, the group can gather around the pool terrace. As the sun drops below the horizon, the outdoor kitchen and barbecue area become the focal point for dinner under the ceiling fans or open sky.
Exploring Cala Conta and beyond
The area of Cala Conta is highly regarded for its Caribbean-blue waters and open island views. The local beaches, including Cala Conta and Cala Escondida, are defined by their clear shallows and rocky outcrops. For a change of scenery, the popular sands of Cala Bassa are just a 1.4-kilometre drive away.
While the immediate surroundings are focused on nature and the sea, practical amenities are close by. A local supermarket is 3.5 kilometres from the house, covering daily provisions. When you want to explore further, the villages of San Jose and the town of San Antonio are nine and eight kilometres away, respectively. Ibiza Town and the airport are also easily accessible, located 24 and 10 kilometres from the property.
